5Fantastic Set and a Great Value!Nov 26, 2010
By K. Groh
[[VIDEOID:mo25GM17R3DDYXR]]My 11 year-old son just got this and has had a lot of fun putting together the three variations.
This is a big set, with each creature measuring about a foot and a half long once built.

The pieces are very specific and detailed -- lots of teeth and claws that are unavailable in tubs. The best thing about the Creator series is that there are three models in one which makes it fun for reassembling again and again.

The ability to make moving creatures adds tremendous value. The crocodile has a string-pull mechanism for opening it's mouth. The tail swings back and forth in a snakelike fashion because the tail is hinged at all points. The sea creature also has an open and close mouth and swinging rear fin. The T-Rex is really neat too and it amazes me that all three creatures can be made from the same set of LEGOS.

This is a little tougher to put together because of the moving parts/string mechanisms but if your younger child is good at building and you don't mind helping out a little, I'm sure that 6 or 7 year-olds could build it. My son had no problem at his age.

3T-Rex keeps falling apartNov 20, 2010
By ldhcmom
We bought this for my 5 year old because he loves dinosaurs and sharks so we thought it would be cool to create these with Lego. It took him over the period of a few days to build it which was fine because we were not in a hurry and his older brother helped him. We built the T-Rex first and I have to say it is quite smaller than it looks on the box and the biggest problem I have with it is that it keeps falling apart. It's either one of the arms or the head, etc. We put it together and after a while, it falls apart again. Very disappointing because he was interested in playing with it. Now he does not even look at it anymore. We are going to build the crocodile now and perhaps this one will stay together. The T-Rex is also shown as standing on the box but when we built it, it always fell over. Kind of deceiving and I am quite disappointed.

4Excellent Lego Set!Jan 24, 2011

I bought this set for my daughter's 8th birthday. We've made all three creatures and each one has fabulous detail! I love that each creature has moving parts, my daughter loves the moving jaws and tails. I appreciate that each creature is rated for difficulty - lets me know what I'm getting myself into ahead of time! Love the easy-to-follow directions and the finished creatures are fun to play with!

4Awesome!Dec 27, 2010

My 3rd grade son loves this toy - needed a little help making sure he didn't lose some of the little pieces, but I expected that. It's so cool how he can make three different animals.

5Fun Lego setApr 26, 2011

I do not normally buy anything other than buildings as far as Lego sets go, but I decided this looked neat so I decided to give it a whirl. I want to buy a second one now so that I can have both the alligator creature and the dinosaur built at the same time.

The joint pieces for the legs are really nice ... they give the model a range of motion. As other reviewers noted ... the moving mouth is a really nice addition. The string is semi hidden too, so it comes as a surprise to those not familiar with the model.

I have not built the sea monster, but the alligator and dinosaur monster models are very sturdy. My only complaint with the dinosaur is that the arms are a little cheesy looking. But, if you have some extra green pieces, you can fancy them up on your own. I had a couple extra 1x4 flat green bricks that I used to make his arms longer and some extra flat corner green pieces that I used to make him look more like he had hands.

Overall, I am very happy with this model and I probably will buy another one so I can have two models. I bought mine at Toys R Us on a whim, but Amazon, as of this writing, has the lowest price I have seen.
